This is not a good solution for the neighborhood.
Plenty of traffic already passes through the nearby Washington Park neighborhood. It's hard enough to traverse the intersections with so many cars parked down each block and poor visibility of oncoming cars. People also ignore the stop signs all the time. There are accidents at the N. Broad & Washington St. intersection every month with no solutions being implemented. Even more close calls. Add to that pedestrians, kids, pets, bikes, semis, etc. Now add in MORE TRAFFIC? People will absolutely take the neighboring streets instead of Riverfront if this project is approved. Please do not do this.
What about removing on-street parking but adding more alley parking like what exists behind the Cactus Tattoo section?
