The City of Mankato is reviewing the possibility of adding an accessible fishing pier in this area as another park amenity. A consideration is a structure made of steel with either a wood or concrete deck.

Update: The Community Open Space property is formerly known as Sanger Pit and is located east of County Road 90 near the privately-owned ski slopes.

Needs something different to put that park on the map
Not many people know that area exists and it wouldn't be used unless there was something else there to bring people in

I support the fishing pier. This water remains fishable throughout the summer, while most water becomes too weedy to fish easily.

Save the cash. The other fishing piers in town aren’t used enough to justify adding more.

Way to many invasive carp in the pond. Carp should be killed off and more game fish introduced to the pond. Carp are already taking it over.
